A purse thief in the region of Guangxi, China last week saw what he
thought was a perfect getaway: a friendly person inviting him to hop on
the back of his scooter. He jumped on the back and they took off, away
from the scene of the crime. The thief shouldn’t have been so quick to
trust his new friend, as Shanghaiist notes.
Shanghaiist writes that in Guangxi News Network’s report, the 29-year-old bike driver had been alerted to the robbery and had actually followed the robber into a parking lot. In that parking lot, he pretended that he would help out. The thief then accompanied the driver right to a police station’s parking garage. The thief was swarmed by police, and the scooter driver went on his way.
