Grammy Award winning recording artist Beenie Man
will perform at the 18th annual St Kitts Music Festival, which will be
held from Thursday, June 26 to Saturday, June 28, 2014.
One of Beenie Man’s biggest local fans, St Kitts minister of tourism and
international transport, Senator Ricky Skerritt, said he is expecting a
great performance from the star.
“I expect that Beenie Man will do what he has done every time he has performed in St. Kitts in the past – electrify the crowd and make an indelible mark on the event,” Skerritt said.
Beenie Man has dominated the dancehall scene since his number one hits, “Who Am I" and “Romie.” Today, the musician from the heartland of Jamaica continues to be one of Dancehall’s most successful artists. He has often collaborated on top international hits such as “Feel It Boy” with Janet Jackson and “Girls Dem Sugar” with Mya.
Now in its 18th year, the St. Kitts Music Festival attracts both locals and visitors alike. It features a wide range of musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, jazz, hip-hop, reggae, soca, calypso, gospel and contemporary music.
Past artists have included such prominent acts as John Legend, Lionel Richie, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, UB40’s Ali Campbell, Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Air Supply, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Shaggy, Toni Braxton, The Commodores, Dionne Warwick, Billy Ocean, Sean Paul, Boyz II Men, King Konris, Stephen Marley, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond, Roberta Flack, Biggie Irie, Bunny Wailer and Lord
