The Adamawa State House of Assembly has reportedly started
the impeachment procedure against governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy
Bala Ngilari.
According to Premium Times, the impeachment notice was directed to the two officials on Wednesday, June 18.
Since Nyako's defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the governor has been caught in a running battle with the lawmakers.
It would be recalled that he made the move in the end of 2013 saying that the ruling party had disappointed Nigerians.
Rumours about the possible impeachment proceedings first surfaced in May, when the Presidency and the PDP allegedly considered plot following the governor's memo on security sent to the Nothern leaders.
More details coming soon.
