Breaking News: SHOCK as Police Discovers Seven Christians Executed on a Beach (UPDATED)

Libyan police have discovered the bodies of seven Egyptian Christians killed execution-style on a beach in Eastern Libya. This has been confirmed by security officials and local residents said on February 24, 2014, Monday.

According to Reuters, the deceased had gunshots to the head. The alleged execution took place outside Benghazi, where assassinations, kidnappings and car bombs are common and Islamist militants are especially active.

A local resident and an Egyptian worker, who spoke to reporters on conditions of anonymity due to the fear for their safety, narrated that a group of unknown gunmen had arrived at the Egyptians' home in the city, and dragged them away the night before.

Security sources confirmed the Egyptians were Christians. However, further details were quite sketchy. No group claimed responsibility for mass murder.

Three years after the revolution that ousted Muammar Gaddafi, Libya's weak government and army struggles to control brigades of former rebels and Islamist militias in a country awash with weapons.

It would be recalled that in January 2014, a British man and a New Zealand woman were shot execution-style on another beach, about 100 km to the west of the capital city of Tripoli.
