1. Nigeria's music scene remains on the driving seat of the African
continent: Nigeria is the only African country that goes into a music
award event hosted by another African country but yet manage to win as
much as,if not more awards than the host country.
2. Most Nigerian reigning top artistes CANNOT perform live on stage; always relying on lipsyncing and the noise from their audience. It's time they all enroll into schools for the performing arts.
3. South Africa has much, much better high capacity venues for hosting international music events of this magnitude. Nigerians should (as a matter of urgency) invest in huge event venues and give Eko Hotel Expo hall a break. OR we may approach Christ Embassy and Winners Chapel to lease their massive auditoriums to us for international 'secular' events. Dem go gree? #Rayboshkerababa
4. As far as the last 24 months is concerned, DAVIDO IS BETTER THAN WIZKID. I guess the problem is that Wizkid allowed his success and new wealth get too DEEP into his head,unlike Davido that was born rich. Thus while Davido continued to concentrate and work hard on his career,Wizkid just remained static with same old dumb lyrics based on female names and their body parts.
5. DBANJ's CAREER IS DEAD AND BURIED, and his die-hard fans should please rise up and tell him the truth. Yes, D'banj won a 'best African act' award at the World Music Awards a few weeks ago,BUT that award was still based SOLELY on the huge successes of OLIVER TWIST (produced by Don jazzy). Dbanj now goes around begging 'small boyz' like Burna Boy, Olamide and Kcee for collabos just to remain relevant.
Don Jazzy on the other hand has consistently produced massive hit songs with EMINADO walking away with a MAMA and SURULERE enjoying several nominations.
