Beyoncé Tops Time Magazine's 2014 '100 Most Influential People' List

Since hitting the world stage as a member of Destiny's Child, music superstar Beyoncé  Knowles has shattered album records, won Grammys, secretly recorded and released a surprise album on iTunes, married a fellow music superstar - Jay-Z - and become a mother, to Blue Ivy.
Today, all that and more have landed the singer atop the Time 100,  Time magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
The tribute to Beyoncé inside the magazine is written by Sheryl Sandberg, a female force herself in the tech industry whose book, "Lean In," encourages women to take charge of their careers and lives.
"Beyoncé, 32, has insisted that girls 'run the world' and declared, 'I'm not bossy, I'm the boss,'" Sandberg writes.

Courtesy Time magazineBeyoncé topped other entertainment stars like Pharrell Williams, Seth Meyers and Kerry Washington in reaching Time cover status, as well as influential political, business and cultural leaders like Hillary Clinton, Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Beyoncé even topped Pope Francis, who is featured inside the magazine in a piece written by President Obama.
The "Drunk in Love" star was also honored by Time alongside Bezos, Clinton as a "Titan," instead of the "Artists" category, in which singer Miley Cyrus and Hollywood stars like "House of Cards" actress Robin Wright and Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey are honored.
Hillary Clinton stands out for making both the Time 100 list and as writing about another honoree on the list, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
The 2014 list sets a new record for the number of women included, 41 in all, according to Time.
