The Parents Corner

THE ACT OF PARENTING
Parenting according to the Oxford Dictionary is the process of caring for your children or child. A parent is responsible for everything that has to do with the upbringing of a child till that child is old enough to cater for him/herself.
Every parent will proudly say he/she has fulfilled the responsibility of parenting, but when deeply looked into, in some families, there are tangible and important things that some children lack.

Love is one basic thing every child needs in the process of growing up, but some parents lack the skills to exhibit this love , some parents even exhibit a high level of carelessness over their children which makes a particular child become exposed to so many dangers in life, and it is at this period that a child's personality is formed.
How do we show love to our children?
The book of wisdom holds it that love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, it does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.

Every parent should possess all these qualities of love in dealing with their children every day, be  patient with them knowing God is still working on them, do not be easily provoked and try not to provoke your children to wrath, don't keep records of wrongs, teach your children to take responsibility for their actions and when they say 'i am sorry', let it pass. Let them feel your trust, knowing that you will always be there for them because these children becomes what we were not able to become.
