Former Minister of Information and ex Director-General of the
National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC),
Dora Akunyili's health condition has reportedly gotten worse.
According to reports, Akunyili who has been said to be recovering from a life threatening disease, got worse on Saturday night and had to be put on strict medical care.
The former NAFDAC Director who is also a member of the ongoing national confab in the country got a lot of people's attention when she appeared at the ongoing confab looking pale and emaciated. Akunyili has however been absent from the confab for the past week due to her health condition.
Akunyili had earlier debunked news about her critical health condition, saying it was baseless and the work of attention seeking trouble makers.
“This story is baseless, unfounded and the handiwork of mischief makers. It should be ignored and discarded in its entirety. As every informed Nigerian knows, I am a delegate to the National Conference currently holding in Abuja" she said.
A close aide to her family has revealed that she is to be flown abroad for medical attention in India as a further delay to much needed treatment could be detrimental.
