Business:Oil, Gas and Power: Nigeria at a glance.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is responsible for harnessing Nigeria's oil and gas resources for sustainable national development.
It explores, produces and refines crude oil into various petroleum products for both external and domestic consumption. It is also at the fore front of Nigeria's gas revolution which is aimed at rapid monetization of the country's abundant gas reserves.

The growth of Nigeria's oil and gas over the past 13 years is testament to Nigeria's importance as one of the world's leading oil and gas producers. But it is also significant to note that in the midst of surplus oil and gas in the country, there is still a great power deficit in the country or literally put, 'the power supply in Nigeria is epileptic in nature'.

In early  October 2013, the President, Dr Good luck Jonathan unveiled the brand new thermal power plant in Geregu, the North central part of Nigeria with name plate capacity  of 434MW, that we will all say was a bold step. The public expected this plant to be fired up in full after the unveiling but unfortunately, up till now, this plant does not have its own gas supply, so it cannot adequately contribute to the national grid anytime soon. This makes the plant to remain dormant because there is no gas available for the plant.

Bad sex kills the joy!

I often hear people say 'i cant stand my husband/wife in bed or my boyfriend/girlfriend sucks in bed'. This seems to be one of the many reasons relationships/marriages breaks up in today's world because the very strong desire for satisfaction are not met. some who cannot run away tends to cheat.

Now this makes me to ask  if the Biblical commandment for sex only reserved for marriage now causes more harm than good in the sexuality of people since one cannot taste the apple before marriage, and when you are now married and set to pluck the apple, you find out it has a sour taste? But remember, everything was created for the good of those who loves Him!

Cinematters: Lagos a.k.a Eko

A land filled with milk and honey so they said. I and some of my buddies were exchanging experiences we have all had in Lagos and i wanted to laugh my head off.
Lagos is a land of natural comedy were you find the good, the bad and the ugly in every aspect of life. According to one of my friends; the essential commodities of life which are shelter, food and transportation used to be very cheap but as of now, it has all sky rocketed because of over-population. One will go to market with a huge amount of money to buy food stuffs, later come back to wonder if by mistake part of the money has been misplaced. Another said that the stress alone leaves a lot of people in a confused state. Because of too much stress, a man slept over the night and did not wake up the following morning.
When you come to the entertainment industry, you will scream when you see a lot of trash dished out to the society because people want to make it over night.

Oh sweetly you come to the ladies world, there you will SHOUT  'I NO FIT SHOUT' because ladies compete daily who will stand out the most which makes some ladies go to the extremes in order to belong.

What about the men? There all hell breaks lose because the 'Big Boys' must maintain their status. Some men have turned to professional liers and even have it as a hobby.
But so what? Without all these, Lagos will not be adventurous and fun to be in, so if you live in Lagos and you are a survivor no matter the class you belong- 'good, bad or ugly' please thumbs up!

Cinematters:The Tempest

Oh yes they said 'Hell has no fury compared to the anger of a woman'. This is a typical example;

Woman sets self, hubby ablaze

Woman sets self, hubby ablaze
• Unhappy about second woman with children for her husband
• Man’s family refuses her to adopt a child

They died together – by fire. The house they both shared as man and wife is also in ruins, burnt to the ground. As at the time of writing this report, the charred body of the woman lay morbidly in the midst of the debris. Approaching the burnt building, certain eerie feeling hits with a good impact. The man, who was saved from dying with his wife inside the fire, died on the way to hospital. “You can say both of them died together,” observed a shocked, grieving neighbour.
The puzzle now is not just that the couple, Patience and Monday Chilaekezie died by fire. To the Umuodu community in Ezinihitte Local Government Area of Imo State, it is that they can hardly understand why Patience could have been so incensed and callous to the extent of setting herself and her husband on fire.
Chidinma, Monday’s younger sister’s accounts of events leading to the tragic end, indicate that Patience had carefully planned it all. According to her, Patience had been grieving that her husband of 12 years had decided to send her away. It was learnt that the couple had married for that long without children. As Chidinma said, her brother had made up his mind to bring in another woman within the community who was pregnant for him.
It was said that Patience, a petty trader, had lured her husband into their house, poured petrol on both of them and then set the house on fire. It was also said that while they and the house were burning, she held fast onto her husband to ensure that he did not escape the inferno.
Saturday Sun gathered that neighbors, who noticed the flame and heard the cry for help, were able to rescue the man who later died on his way to the hospital. Community members, who rushed to see Patience’s charred body when the fire had burnt out, was gripped by fear and horror.
Chidinma further told Saturday Sun that her brother was able to run out from the inferno alive but died 20 minutes later on the way as they were rushing him to hospital.
In tears, she recalled that on the day of the incident, being January 11, 2014, her brother, who was an automobile technician, had gone to his shop as he did every day. His wife, popularly known as Madam Oil, had also left the house for her shop at a local market. However, a few hours later, she came back to the house. She was said to have been seen with a keg that, in the instance, could be containing petrol, with which she later sprinkled round the house.
According to Chidinma: “She called my brother that there was an emergency and that he should rush back home. I was at home then, but in the next building. He was the one that told me that his wife just called that there is an emergency. While he was stepping into the house, I heard him call on his wife that he can perceive the smell of fuel all over the place. In less than one minute after he went inside the house, the house started to burn.
“I heard my brother screaming for help. I think by then he was struggling with his wife. We were able to reach them and my brother was brought out alive, while his wife was burnt beyond recognition. Shortly before he died, he told us that his wife had finally fulfilled her promise. My brother said that his wife was threatening that she would kill him and kill herself too.”
On a possible reason she could have done that, Chidinma said: “They had been married for years without any child. This has caused a lot of problem between the couple to the extent that my brother secretly married another wife. The woman gave birth to two girls and is pregnant now with the third child. When she finally discovered, she was devastated because she had severally pleaded with her husband to allow her adopt a child. The last family meeting we had, she was told to leave her husband’s house if she was not ready to accommodate another woman who had given her husband children. Since that day, she had been living a secluded life, most especially when the family made it clear that they would not accept a bastard as a child in the name of adoption. Nobody knew that she would get to this point of committing suicide.”
Another eyewitness, who is also a neighbor, claimed that he saw the deceased sprinkle fuel round the house. “Initially, I thought it was holy water because she had turned into a prayer warrior ever since she could not get pregnant. She was always depressed because her fellow women in the community jeered at her especially when they heard that she refused to allow the other woman to live in their husband’s house. We were all shocked to realize that she actually planned to kill herself and the husband.”
A woman, who later introduced herself as Mama Chima, claimed that days before the incident, Patience was selling off her wares at a give-away price. “It was more like an auction market. When I asked her what was going on, she said that she was trying to change to another line of business. She was always crying, and mumbling to herself.”
Also at the scene was the second wife who wept uncontrollably. “What kind of bad luck is this? Who is going to take care of my children and me? He promised to drive the other woman, so that we can have peace in this house. It is nobody’s fault that God did not give her a child,” the unfortunate woman lamented.
Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Jane Elemoko, confirmed the incident to Saturady Sun.

Bizzare

Seriously my dear counselor's, i thought marriage is strictly for humans? The story you are all about to read will blow your mind.

Man Weds Dog In US

San Francisco, CA — On Monday history was made at the Chapel of Our Lady at the Presidio in San Francisco as the first-ever state recognized human-animal marriage took place.

Local resident 35-year-old Paul Horner was the groom during the ceremony. Joining him was his faithful dog Mac who is 36-years-old in dog years. Mac also decided to be the groom but ended up wearing a white veil at the last moment.

Father McHale who officiated the outdoor wedding told reporters he was extremely happy to be a part of this joyous moment of life. “This is the definition of true love my friends. There is nothing more sacred than the bond between a man and his faithful dog,” McHale said. “Now, since it is recognized as a legally binding marriage in the state of California, Mr. Horner and Mac will have all the same tax benefits and everything else coming to them that a regular married couple would receive. It’s a fantastic day to be alive!”
Phew! what can i say?

The life of purpose

It is now an in-thing in the society that people do things to get other people's approval, thereby denying themselves the joy of being their own self. This condition makes individuals to lose their self esteem, their freedom and their inner joy.

This kind of life style if deeply looked into is as a result of the beliefs drummed into some of us while growing up. Some individuals grew up in an environment where they have to accept every decision made by their parents over them whether it is good or bad for them. This makes the individual never to have a mind of his/her own and it then reflects greatly when the individual is grown. That is why some ladies walk on the streets half naked in the name of fashion but in the real sense, they just want to 'dress up' in order to gain the acceptance of some part of the society.
You also find some young men joining cultism or doing drugs and they tag it 'the big boys club', but it still does not escape the fact that they are simply looking for acceptance.

All these societal demeanors leaves the individuals associated to it confused on who they really are and they are all manipulations known as 'the mind games'.
Teaching children at a tender age how to take their own decisions and have a mind of their own helps them at a later age to' live a life of purpose'.
