What! Pornographic Films Shot In Catholic Church in Austria
Congregants at a Catholic church in Hörsching, Austria are up in arms after two Indecency films were allegedly shot in their house of worship in June, without the parish priest’s permission. The films, which were made available for download online, prompted the Diocese of Linz to file an official complaint against its adult star(s) and crew members, who face up to six months in jail if they’re found guilty. So, while it might not be as strange as having sex on top of a Chipotle, making Indecency in a church seems to have greater criminal consequences.
According to The Local, police are currently searching for the films’ star, 24-year-old Polish-Austrian actress Babsi, who has become something of an Internet sensation for her church Indecency role. Investigators are also looking into how the crew was able to get into the church, after parish priest Father Walter confirmed that he had not granted the film crew permission to shoot on the premises. Father Walter was also the one to discover that his church had been used as a makeshift Indecency studio, after an anonymous tipster alerted him to the videos online.
Under section 189 of Austria’s criminal code, which outlaws any “mischief” that might cause legitimate nuisance for a religious community, the pornographers not only face potential jail time, but a fine as well. As for the parish, clergy members are currently working to “reinstate the dignity of the church.” According to a statement from the diocese, “the sacraments which were celebrated in the past few weeks in the parish church are still considered valid.”

The strongest typhoon to hit southern China in four decades has killed
18 people, the government said Sunday, while in the Philippines the

Oscar Pistorious gets into Fight at Nightclub over Mention of Murder Trial
Paralympic athlete, Oscar Pistorious, who is currently facing trial for the murder of then-girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, reportedly got into a fight at a nightclub because a man allegedly taunted him about the case.
Pistorius’ spokesperson reportedly said
the athlete was sitting quietly in the VIP section of the club in
Johannesburg, when the man approached him, The Telegraph reports.
However, the man is alleging that Pistorious was “drunk
and very aggressive” and was the one who initiated the physical
altercation – which led to him pushing the athlete, who “fell over” into
a chair.
This incident occurs just a few days after the adjournment of his murder trial. During the case, which will resume on August 7th, closing arguments will be made and the judge will deliver her verdict.
Pistorious killed Steenkamp on
February 14, 2013 because he allegedly thought she was an intruder, and
shot her in self-defense. He has pleaded not guilty to the murder.

Women to become Bishops in church of England!
For the first time in history, the Church of England on
Monday voted in favour of women being allowed to become bishops,
breaking nearly 2,000 years of tradition and ending 20 years of bitter
compromises since women were allowed to become priests in 1994.
152 members of the synod voted in favour while 45 were against it.
This means that next year, the first woman might become a suffragan (assistant) bishop and her appointment could be announced before the end of 2014.
A previous attempt in 2012 failed when 74 lay members voted against, preventing the required two-thirds majority among the laity.
According to The Guardian report, the vote may have been tipped by a closing speech of astonishing force and passion by a blind evangelical Christian who rose to become managing director of Lloyds bank after he had lost his sight.
Speaking to the key evangelical community opposed to the measure, John Spence told them: "Your faith is my faith, is all of our faith, and every one of us has a vital role to ensure that the searing vision of the risen Christ is taken out into this country, trust not misplaced. You, like me, will come to see … I am confident that we can walk hand in hand, and return the risen Christ to his rightful place at the centre of this country, its conscience and its culture."
Earlier Welby had urged the synod to vote in favour, saying that the move would show the world how Christians could practice "good disagreement".
Twenty-seven of the earlier opponents changed their minds, among them Tom Sutcliffe, who said the measure would now bring "episcopal femininity" that would enrich the church.
